Are you too far gone?

This is a very hard question to ask of yourself and of others. It generally arises when your motivation has dipped, the projects have lost their lustre and you feel you are doing more grinding and “going through the motions” than you should be. The Appeal of Turning Off

We all yearn for it, we all desire it and yet we focus it down to a 2 – 3 week sprint during our favourite seasonal time of the year. In that bit of time, we put all our hopes and dreams into that short sprint hoping that somehow we come back rejuvenated and ready to take on the world again. To achieve that goal – we turn off – block everything out, focus on just us, ignore everything around us. Decompress. Relax. Unwind. Where Are You Going?

Something to think about on this last blog of 2017. Where do you want to go next year? How will you get there? What goals do you hope to achieve? Who do you need to help you get there? When will you achieve these goals? Answer the questions, write them down, print them out, put them over your workstation, your reading room, your bed, your nightstand, your car, etc, etc. But make them happen and don’t forget when times get tough, where it is you want to go.

Wipe the Board

I keep all my random thoughts, ideas, suggestions, AHA moments in a trello board called ideas.  Every few months I go back and prune the board – removing ideas that are no longer relevant, adding on to extra cards so they have a little more context and completing deleting cards that I have utterly no idea what they meant when I wrote them down. This week I wiped the board completely clean – purged it all – started fresh. I then spent the next 30 minutes coming up with at least 15 – 30 new ideas for what could be
