Don’t sacrifice your Learning for AI Speed

If I asked AI to draw me a picture in the style I wanted it drawn, the only thing I’d learn about drawing is how to ask AI to do something for me and pass it off as my own. How Much do you Know?

Does it matter? If you don’t know enough can you figure it out? If you can’t figure it out, do you know who to ask? When things go sideways are you going to stop or keep pushing into it? The question isn’t how much you know, but how much desire and drive you have to learn to know.  

Knowing when to Shift

Cars shift. If you’re driving standard, it’s a more pronounced shift, you need to initiate it, otherwise, the engine keeps revving. The persistent revving of the engine is the cue for you to know when to shift, you know by the sound that it can’t maintain its push unless you shift to a higher gear. Choose Your Own Adventure

I read a plethora of Choose Your Own Adventure Books as a kid – they were great. I don’t know what today’s equivalent of them would be. But as I was writing this article, I could smell the paper, feel the book in my hands and was flooded with memories of flipping back and forth trying to outsmart the author – I never did. The Creative AI

AI can reimagine things. AI can pull together information. AI can get you started on a proposal. AI can answer questions. AI can build things. Show me AI coming up with an idea from scratch. I want that create AI, I want AI levels up, not just do something faster. Until then, I will wave at my IT overlords as they pass by with a mutual nod of appreciation for doing good work.
