Get a Theme Song

Everyone needs something to pick them up when they are down and the best way to do this is to find a theme song.  This doesn’t have to be a Top 40 hit, it could be anything  – a song you enjoy, the theme song to a favourite TV show or perhaps even a song from a musical you just saw – the point is – Get a Theme Song. I don’t know what I’m doing

How many times in the past month have you heard someone emphatically, 100% say that to you? Not – I think I understand or this is what I’m thinking to solve this or I haven’t done this before but I’ve put this plan together – but really, 100% – I have no idea. The Roar of the crowd

Like many Ottawa Senator fans, I watched their playoff game on Friday (vs the Habs) from a very loud bar and last night in their heartbreaking loss and subsequent ouster from the playoffs.  The CTC was the place to be as people were going nuts and on their feet for the whole game – what an amazing feeling to know so many people (at least 18,000+) are behind you and think you can do it.  People screaming their names, cheering on the team, waving towels and flags. Find your Focus

When I first started out as a junior developer, I was working on two parallel projects – A database entry system and very early website.  Both were exciting, both were interesting and on both I scratched the surface on what I was doing.  I realized at that time that I enjoyed doing both but that I couldn’t do both well and learn everything I would really need to become really great at it.  So I thought about what I wanted to focus in on and learn about more – web-based development or databases.
