But does it need to Scale?

No. Not everything scales. Don’t confuse good work, great work, amazing work with the need for mass production scale. Scale is good for widgets, but not so good for creating unique value.

Debugging Your Team

I love debugging. Press F5 and walk step by step through everything you have just created. It’s awesome. Could you imagine debugging your life – pressing F5 and figuring out what is wrong with you? “Oh looks like you had a huge lunch and are now tired.” “Trying to do too much and need to slow down or drop something” “You’re stuck in an infinite loop because you can’t solve that problem” And on and on and on (that was fun and maybe a topic for another blog) but right now what you need to focus on is your team.

The One-Week Retrofit

What would you do if you stopped doing everything you’re doing now for One week. If you took One week, to fix up your business, your team, and your personal progress. One week to not be tied to a sprint or delivery but to do the things that would push you forward. At my first company, we needed this for a week, we took an old app and spent the week repurposing it into a product. Everyone was focused on nothing but this, all other meetings were pushed out. We started on Monday 8am together and we ended on Friday
