The Steps to Growth

Start – anything, something, not big, or small, but start. Repeat – do what you did yesterday, but do it again, don’t modify it, don’t increase it, don’t push yourself further. Careers are exactly like video games. You start off not knowing what to do so you plod along and stuff “happens”. Then you figure out you want to get better at something, perhaps even “specialize”. Can you Handle a Blip?

Not everything can. We used to have a great test to see if our code could survive. We pulled the network cable. That’s, no other fancy actions, just pure and simple, we pulled the cord to see what good our app would be if we yanked out the cord that powered everything.
