The Team Playbook

Do you have one for your team? What do they need to work on? I.e., what tasks should they do first? What do they need to focus on? I.e., what needs to be done when? What do they do when they aren’t sure what to do?  I.e., what can they fall back on? The playbook is what gives your team something to fall back on because that’s what it is, when all else fails, do what everyone else on the team is doing, and you can’t go wrong with that.

It’s not what’s written down. It’s not your job description. It’s not what people think you do or what they ask you to accomplish. It’s what your team needs, that’s your role.

What’s On Paper

“On Paper we shouldn’t be doing this well” I’ve heard that statement many times and it always comes back to the team effort. When the project, the delivery, and the timeline start, it doesn’t matter how many people you have, how much cash is in the bank, and who has delivered more in the last quarter. All that matters is what the team can do and if the team can deliver past what is expected of them. Then the team is on the path towards being unstoppable.
