Finding your Audience

Your audience is out there, you simply haven’t found them yet. You can have the best message and/or product out there, but without an audience, you will have nothing. Outline who your audience is, write down what they are looking for and what they need from you, then craft your message, the one that will help them understand who you are and what you are about. It might not work the first time, but that’s the idea, to keep iterating until you do find them, and then your message will become crystal clear as to why you never did this

Where are you Not Leading?

When was the last time you asked yourself this question? Where are you Not Leading? Where is your team falling down? Where are they failing? Where do they need your help? It’s not the “warm and fuzzy” question we all want to be asking, but it’s the question, you the leader, needs to be asking of yourself all the time, to ensure you’re helping your team, leading, supporting, and growing them in the best way possible. Asking the hard questions is what makes this all possible.

Nothing is Ever Assigned to Me

Then go to the backlog and work on it. Ask your Product Manager what you can tackle. Look ahead to the next sprint. If your plate is clean, fill it up. Stop waiting for work to be assigned and start assigning it yourself.

The Spring in your Sprint

There is a kick in your step today as you start the first day of the New Year. Similar to the first day of a New Sprint where there is a kick to everything you are doing as you start fresh on the work you are doing. It doesn’t matter if the sprint has rolled over, if it’s continuing what you did before, or if it’s a bug being reported – you can’t change the fact that it’s the first day of the new Sprint. Your optimism is brimming over and it’s simply because it’s the start of something new.
