I tried out Claude Design this weekend.

Pretty cool, lots of fun.

I thought I’d build a presentation with it.  I got pretty excited as I worked through it, and then after a few hours of work, I hit my weekly usage limit.

One presentation, 32 slides, 2 hours of work – usage limits hit for the week.  No deep thinking on learning.

Does it mean it’s a bad product?  No, I just didn’t plan for the usage limit to kick in before I was done, or know what it equated to.

What I learned;

  1. When you hit your usage limit, you can’t even export your file – ouch.
  2. The work isn’t done, so double ouch.
  3. I had hoped to present this on Wednesday, so plan B is in effect.
  4. Design is still costly work, whether by human or AI, and should be compensated as such.

You might read this and go – next time know your limits and play within it – but that’s not the lesson.

Your usage is undefined; don’t let it be constrained by your tools.
