That’s our goal. That’s what I heard our goal was – “Just Above the Bare Minimum.” If there was a place not to set the bar, that was it, because it’s so low, you can step right over it. Be better than the Bare Minimum… or just above it.
Brainstorms are about ideas. They are about getting people into a room, or on a call, and batting around ideas back and forth – whether they are good or bad – it doesn’t matter. It’s about nothing more than the ideas in a room. And the moment you start to shut them down, all that energy goes out the door. And you’re left with the worst ideas.
We never have time to do anything that we will know will one day break until that one fateful day when it breaks, in the worst possible way. Then we have all the time in the world.
A retrospect only works when people are accountable for their actions. If there is no accountability, there is no moving forward and if there is no moving forward, you will never see the value accrued from a true retrospective.
The last month I’ve been blocked on lots of writing, missed a few days, and wondered if I should go back to it. Some days I have phoned it in and dragged myself to do it.
