Perks are a big thing in trying to attract top talent to a team.

Coding in Bean Bag chairs.

$20,000 coffee machines.

Bring your dog into work.

On-Site Dry cleaning.

Free fitness memberships.

Free Internet.

Nothing wrong with these perks if they are enhancing what is already there and of value to you taking the opportunity in the first place.

Challenging Projects.

Flexible solution architecture.

Ability to take the initiative and promote your ideas.

Free self-learning options.

Great team atmosphere.

If the latter came with paid internet, no dry cleaning, my dog staying at home, coffee from a packet and a folding chair, I’d still choose the latter.

Those are the perks that we need to be competing on and that you need to be caring about more than anything else.
