You have an idea to make something better that goes against the grain.

You’re tired of watching someone being treated unfairly.

The customer that everyone loves is belittling your team’s efforts.

The list goes on and on, but you need to speak up, you need to go against the current, popular stream of thought and do something different.

And you’ve done it, respectfully, honestly, sincerely.

And still everything has gone Sideways.

Phrases like “power play”, “taking over”, “being bossy”, “never jumping on board”, “not being a team player”, “disrespecting authority” are being thrown around to push you down so you never speak up again.

Don’t let them.

Don’t let them push you down and stop you from doing what’s right or voicing your own opinion.  A team is not a collective, it is more than that, and we only grow when everyone on the team is encouraged to speak up and be honest with each other knowing it comes from a place where we want to be better as a team then we are, individually.
