Empire Building happens when we focus on building everything around us, getting all the right laptops and tablets, all the best tables, all the perks, all the bodies, all the chairs, all the everything that goes along with building an empire except doing the one thing that truly matters to building an empire.
The requirements, i.e., the work that needs to be done, understanding the problem you are trying to resolve, realizing what order of work needs to be done, etc, etc.
It’s the “stuff” that goes into creating an empire.
When I say “bodies” I mean the extra bodies, not the people that are immediately needed. The Startups that are bloated aren’t the ones that succeed, the ones that succeed are the ones that have all they need to answer the above question.
Keep it Simple, get what you need, rinse and repeat.
