Guess what – users are going to ignore your suggestions for making their software better until they see it in action and realize you were right.

The follow-up, they’ll forget the conversation ever took place.

And Guess what, if the roles were reversed you probably would have done the same when the same discussion happened.

Why?

Because it’s not where your mind was at, not where the focus needed to be, not what the priority was, etc, etc, etc.

The goal then becomes to get into the user’s mind and make this their focus, make this their priority, walk them through what will go wrong if they stay on this path, educate them, ask them what they are expecting to be in that field, how it will work and what they want to use it for.

Get inside their mind.

Otherwise, you’re going to be doing it twice.
