Heading Back to the Office

I made a joke on a meeting yesterday that between meetings, we could all take a moment and make a quick run to Tims for a coffee. There were a lot of groans. As some offices gear up for going back to the office the question many of us will be asking ourselves are – what are we going to take from this experience and keep using in our day today. To throw everything that you have done over the past three months out the window would be a loss of growth, development and leadership to what your team has

Team Culture is a Nudge

I’ve been having this conversation with people over the last few weeks about Team Culture. What it takes to make it successful, what elements should go into it, who you should follow, etc, etc. There are a few core elements to this discussion but one that I always like to remind myself of – developing that team culture where everyone gets along, works together, does more together than apart, knows where each are weak, others are strong and they work together to fill in the gaps – that team culture – it doesn’t happen all at once. I do know, that if you are putting all your efforts into making sure that developers are achieving a high-level of coding standard, you better be

Everyone is Going Remote

On this week’s episode of Remotely Prepared – we talk about all the announcements that have been coming out as of late on the big companies going remote. Oddly enough, it sounds like we are ripping it to shreds whereas we do think it’s great. The way I am thinking about this big, monumental change in my mind is that if everyone decided they were going to switch from iPhones to Android – would we have the resources, the time, the necessary tools, to help people make that change?
