Would vs Will

I love it when someone says “I will do this” – that word “will” – it say so much about what someone is going to do; They have passion and fortitude to get something done. They are making a promise to finish something. They have committed to make this “thing” a reality. They have taken on the ownership to make this happen. The Day After the Big Event

Call it whatever you want, but let’s narrow it down to this little Indie film that opened up yesterday. The Wedge is a mythical concept that sometimes emerges on your team or in your project, always in the form of a person.  It’s appearance can vary  between the starting calm of a project or the maelstrom of a delivery gone awry.  Whichever the case the damage can be far reaching. The one that complains about the smallest issues, making mountains out of mole hills on a daily basis. The one that disrupts others workspaces and efforts to complete work with a constant stream of inane chatter or actions that seek to disrupt. The one that throws up roadblocks to

Commit To Your Questions

Questions are great – sit down with people, discuss a problem, get some feedback from them, perhaps some questions on points you might have skipped over that need to be better elaborated on – they can help.  Here the question serves not only as a commitment to helping you grow but a guide to where to go next. Questions are useless when they are delivered in a manner that seeks to break someone, bring them down, push all their effort to the side and punish them for what they have not done vs what they have done.  Hitting someone with a barrage
