Trial and Error
I cannot believe this concept is not being taught in schools. I was gobsmacked when one of my kids told me they had no idea what this meant. Here it is. Trial – you take the problem, you try and approach, and see it through. Error – you get an error in your approach, you fail, it doesn’t work out, something goes sideways, whatever you want to call it, but at the end of the error you go back to the Trial. You keep Trialing and Erroring until you hit Success. There is no shame in how many trials you

Do you 4am Love it?
Yes, we all have that “passion” that we just love and motivates and keeps us going. But do you 4am love that passion? Do you love it enough to get up at 4am to work on? Anyone can work on their “passion” for nothing between 10AM and 2PM. But getting up at 4am for something you love? That’s passion.

Just Like Everyone Else
Stay on the same course as everyone else. Don’t colour outside of the lines. Stay in your box, maybe make it smaller to be on the safe side. Don’t try anything new, do what everyone else is doing. After all, 1 million, billion cannot be wrong, can they? Stay the course that is safe and well worn by those in front of you (no need to create a shortcut to get their faster). Volunteer for Something
Whatever fits into your wheelhouse but volunteer. Whether you’re a marketer giving your time to a small ad agency. Or a coder giving your time to a non-profit. Or an engineer coaching a youth basketball team. Or a (INSERT PROFESSION HERE) doing (SOMETHING GREAT HERE). You might go in thinking you’re going to get nothing out of it – but you will, it simply depends on what you are willing to put into it that will be the differentiator.
