Escape from Craptivity

I wrote a post a while ago about Craptivity and wanted to expand on it a little more – so I wrote a presentation on it. The best part, it’s not as hard to get out of as you thin. https://www.slideshare.net/GregThomas3/escape-from-craptivity-how-to-accomplish-your-goals

What do you mean you didn’t win?

I guess that’s in then? Time to pack it in. Time to go home. Time to queue up 18+ seasons of some show you never heard of on Netflix. Time to go back to what you were doing before and get yourself comfortable. Time to realize that’s it, that’s all. I didn’t think you were going to do that, but maybe now you’ll realize it’s okay you didn’t get the promotion, it’s okay your demo blew up, it’s okay things didn’t go as planned and it sure is okay you didn’t make it on your first try. You Can’t Only Show Up

Want to be on the best team that works on the coolest projects? Want to get the call from the owner when a customer is about to throw out your hardware? The easiest way to sit down and do the work is to schedule into each and every day. That’s it (seriously there’s nothing else).

What we really need help with is the delivering, the building, the creating, the implementing, the deploying, the actualizing and the experimenting. If you’re an Architect focused solely on design all I can say is you’re missing out. Not only are you missing out but so is your team, because where they really need you is on everything else that comes after the Design.
