The Off Season

The season where we don’t work. We don’t up our game. We don’t do extra training to learn a new skill. We don’t reflect on what did and didn’t work. We don’t think of new ideas and approaches. It’s a sports reference to time off between seasons but it can just as easily be a reference to the work you are doing today.

Do you 4am Love it?

Yes, we all have that “passion” that we just love and motivates and keeps us going. But do you 4am love that passion? Do you love it enough to get up at 4am to work on? Anyone can work on their “passion” for nothing between 10AM and 2PM. But getting up at 4am for something you love? That’s passion.

You Don’t Need to Change the World

Or make a dent it in as Steven Jobs so famously said. Or implement a change that affects millions and billions overnight. What you DO need to focus on is what you need to do to change your world and make an impact on the people around you. Focus on that delivery, focus on that change. Once that change happens, the rest will fall into place as blocks always do.

In the Time It took…

I’ve been sitting in a coffee shop for the last 45 minutes listening to a group of people contain about the projects they are on – full on complaining. Two days ago, I overheard a conversation where 2 people conversed for 2 hours about the next release – full on complaining.
