Finding a Way

If you love something enough no one can stop you from doing it. If you’re stuck in a job where you are constantly being told any of the following; “No, that’s not the right way.” “No, you’re doing it wrong” “No, you should be doing this instead” “No, you cannot make your own choices” Despite giving your best, despite trying to learn, despite showing up all the time – it can be a hard message to hear and one that can be immediately translated in your mind to – “you don’t love this enough, don’t bother”. And if it’s on

Stop Browsing

You don’t need to check that news site one more time – nothing has changed – at least nothing worthwhile. If you’re in a rut or at a place where there is never enough to do, than it’s time for you to start figuring out how to get enough to do. That’s it. Make a Plan, stick to it, and stop spending the hours browsing news sites, watching YouTube or setting up your playlists. I Don’t have an Answer, I have a Plan

How many times have you wanted to have the quick, immediate answer to a question in your head? The quick snappy comeback that people walk away thinking – “okay, I see how this is”. Now they are ready to wait. Not everyone is quick

The Unchallenged Team

Will leave. They will lose interest. They will lose faith in your plans. They will not push themselves. They will start to look elsewhere. Find out what will challenge them, what will bring back the spark to ignite them and show them how they can grow and restore their faith. There is always time to turn around an under performing team, but you have to be willing to take the first step and challenge them.

Burnt Out Toaster Ovens

I love this line, it’s from the Transformers movie. I think of it every time I see someone on the path to Burnout – taking on too much, pushing too hard, not giving themselves enough breaks, trying to be the hero and then the inevitable – falling down, making mistakes, losing your cool on your team and everyone else around you. If you need something to remind you of how burn out can be, look no further than this movie clip and ending up like a “Burnt Out Toaster Oven” in the morning.
