In-App Ads Go Boom

I was playing a game a few weeks ago when it prompted me to watch some Ads to get some more in game credits. I clicked play. Put my phone down. And went to clean the kitchen while the Ad played. This isn’t a LifeHack or some slick approach to how I’m beating the system and fooling all those involved. It’s simply a testimonial to the number of eyeballs that are on your Ads. If that’s the goal you’re trying to it, if not carry on.

More Notepads Please

What’s the simplest productivity tool you need to be effective? For me it’s a yello Notepad and a black pen. I can sit at a chair and write out ideas, architectures, apps, articles for hours – scribbling down thoughts, scratching them out, crumpling them up and starting all over again. It’s a cathartic release that I don’t get from typing into a word doc or scribbling on a tablet. And it’s the simplest, cheapest form of productivity that I have that ships with no excuses for not being able to try something new.

What’s more important than a Like? Everything you do from the moment you wake up till the moment you go to sleep. Add it all up and ask yourself – “If no one liked this would I do it again?” – if the answer is yes, than rinse and repeat.

The Play By Play In Our Heads

Wouldn’t it be great if you had a Play By Play announcer following you around every day, tracking your movements, annotating everything you did? Would you change what you’re doing? Would you be a little more daring to liven things up? Would you push yourself a little harder when things aren’t going your way? Would you tell them to be quiet so you could focus and get your work done? Would you see them as a critic and work to overcome? I imagine sports figures listen to the play-by-play after a game they either played well or badly to see
