Need/Want

If the circle between NEED/WANT is quite large, this means what we NEED to do is being pushed by our passion for where we WANT to be. Do I want to be an artist?  Okay, I NEED to go learn how to draw fruit, people, etc? Do I want to draw comic books?  I NEED to understand the medium and space in between the panels. Do I want to be a great software developer?  I need to up my game and not only read some new blogs but I NEED to practice. I NEED To do something to achieve my WANT.  This

Have/Need

There will always be overlap between my HAVES/NEEDS but the goal is to reduce this circle and make it as small as possible. When the HAVE/NEED overlap is too large, this means that we are being governed by external factors (urgency requests) over what actually needs to be done (importance). Stop Looking at the Weather

There is a culture that has spawned from obsession over weather where people will look at forecasts hours and days out and plan what they do based on it. But weather changes, by the minute, you can’t control, even if you tried (sorry futurists). Just like you can’t control the bad attitudes in your office, maybe on your team, what will be on tap when your team goes out for that once a month team party. So don’t try, roll with it, build your own Aura, forge your own paths. The best things can be accomplished on the darkest, gloomiest, rainiest days.

Feedback Is Where It’s At

Ask for it. All the time. In everything you do. Take it. Consider it. Ponder it. Spin it around in your head and look at it from angles. But always be asking for it, always be taking it and don’t ever stop. Because when you stop asking for feedback, you stop getting better.
