What Online Conferences Miss

It would happen in more meetings than I would care to admit. But as you’re presenting, no matter the size of the group, there would be a side conversation that would start between two people at the back. It wouldn’t be malicious in intent, but the purpose was for them to discuss the topic at hand quietly and realize that they were both lost or that they both had the same question. There is strength in numbers and that’s what would then give them confidence to ask a question. In Online conferences, you don’t have someone sitting next to you.

Sometimes You Need a Project

Projects help learn new skills and get things done. People don’t learn to build houses by writing books about them and doing it all in their head without ever picking up a hammer. And it’s not entirely practical to go pick a plot of land and start building a house. Find a project that can lend itself to helping you learn a new skill. Want to learn AWS? Focus on a component of AWS, some piece of code that you can use to manage your life, maybe an app for your phone, anything that can be small enough for you
